Research independence
Standards governing research questions, methods, conclusions and commissioned work at CUFE AI²F.
Scope
This policy applies to research reports, research briefs, policy briefs, working papers and data notes published in the name of the Center. Authors are responsible for work bearing their names. The Center's publication process checks required fields and sources.
Research questions and conclusions
Named authors determine research questions, methods, interpretations and conclusions through academic and professional judgement. Funders, partners and research subjects may not prescribe conclusions in advance or require the removal of material limitations relating to facts or methods.
Commissioned and collaborative research
Commissioned research states the commissioning relationship, funding arrangement and the role of each partner in research design, data provision, review and publication. Authors check factual comments submitted by partners. Disagreement concerning interpretation or conclusions is not incorporated without explanation.
Review and publication
Review covers facts, methods, sources, disclosures and expression. A change that materially affects a conclusion is recorded in the corrections register.
