Editorial policy

Research reports, working papers, research briefs and policy briefs are identified by their actual publication type. Working papers retain version information. A work is not described as a published journal article until acceptance and publication have been confirmed. Institutional updates, media interviews and research outputs are filed separately.

Authors are responsible for work published under their names. Author names link to distinct identity records that state institutional relationships, research fields and verifiable career information. Joint authors appear in the original order. Interviewees and the authors of the corresponding reports are identified separately.

Historical material retains its original authors, institution and publication date. The date on which this website creates a record does not replace the original date of publication. People with the same name are distinguished through institutional affiliation, career history, collaborators and the source publication.

Sources are given for data, quotations and material factual claims. Research pages retain the research question, analytical process, method, conclusions and necessary explanatory material. Charts state their units, period, data source and method of processing.

Full text may be provided for original work and material for which republication has been authorised. Where the Center does not hold permission to republish a third-party work in full, the website provides an independently written record and a link to the original. A republished work retains its original title, byline, source and licence conditions and is not presented as the Center's own output.

Formal research reports state their methods, the scope of the data, principal assumptions and limitations. If data cannot be made public, the report states the access conditions or reason for confidentiality. Unavailable material is not used as a substitute for the methodological information readers need.

Authors disclose project funding and relevant interests, including commissions, appointments or commercial relationships connected to the research subject. Named authors remain responsible for the conclusions. Citing a source does not imply that the source institution endorses material published on this website.

AI tools are not authors. Material use of AI in data preparation, analysis, code or drafting is disclosed in the work. Authors remain responsible for checking data, citations and conclusions. References generated with the assistance of a model must be checked against the original publication record.

Formal reports provide a recommended citation containing the author, title, report number, date, version and permanent URL. Historical works are cited using their original publication details. A citation to a record on this website identifies both the record and its original source.

Material changes state what was changed and when. Updating a published page does not alter its original publication date. The corrections register records substantive corrections, clarifications and withdrawals. Reports of possible errors should include the page URL, location of the issue and supporting source material.

Republication and reuse of data follow the copyright or licence statement attached to each work. Research content does not replace advice for a particular transaction, legal matter or operating context.
